Thank you for helping us celebrate Wavy’s 90th birthday in support of Seva Foundation. To those of you who were there in the room, and those who joined us in spirit, we offer our heartfelt gratitude.
The night was a joyful reflection of the spirit Wavy has carried through the world for decades: bringing people together through humor, compassion, creativity, music, and service. The stories, performances, laughter, and generosity shared throughout the evening honored that legacy in a truly beautiful way.
After all, where else are you going to see Aloe Blacc, Cat Power, Todd Rundgren, Steve Earle, the Moldy Peaches, and Peter Rowan singing “What’s Going On” together in clown noses?!
As Dr. Larry Brilliant reminded us, restoring sight is about far more than vision; it’s about opportunity, dignity, and helping people fully participate in their own lives and communities.
We were not alone in honoring Wavy. Governor Newsom issued a commendation thanking Wavy for “the lifetime of joy, humor, and advocacy he has shared with the world”, and San Francisco officially proclaimed May 16, 2026 as “Wavy Gravy Day,” recognizing Wavy’s “spirit of creativity, compassion, and social justice,” and reminding us “that art and activism are inseparable, that compassion is a civic practice, and that a single individual can help change the world.”
Thank you for helping change the world.

Happy 90th Wavy Gravy!
I’ve been both a fan & supporter for ages (at the moment I’m wearing the really old, black Seva tee shirt that I’ve had for close to 20 years).
I’ve love it if you folks had more merch.
The only other thing I’m aware of is the Sing Out For Seva CD.
Thanks some much for so many smiles.

Thank you Wavy for coming to our Desiderata Community School HS Graduation 1975 as Key Note Speaker. Before the event we showed you the “Round Room” which worked as a library and a place for students to have chill space. Yes you blew our minds and the parents. All because our sister school of Pacific High School which was a x-pollination of two “alternative schools”. Thanks from our tribe to yours🦉❤️
Much Love!
