More than 450 enthusiastic guests filled Portland’s Patricia Reser Center for the Arts to attend Soor Aur Saptak (SAS), a benefit for Seva Foundation. This year SAS completed its 14th consecutive production, which brought color, energy, and joy to the evening.
“Volunteering with Seva is my way of giving voice to vision—where melody meets compassion, and children see a brighter future,” said SAS cofounder Mini Jairaj. Founder Sandhiprakash (Sandhi) Bhide credits the program’s success to the loyal audiences who return year after year, donate generously, and to the businesses that sponsor this noble cause. Cofounder Anjali Bhide is the backbone of operations—coordinating volunteers, securing donations, driving ticket sales, and keeping everything running smoothly. As she noted, “It takes a team of dedicated people to make this happen, and the Portland community and its neighbors no doubt have a heart of gold.”
The collective impact is tremendous. In the last fiscal year, SAS raised $58,305. In its 14-year history, SAS has raised $548,955, driven by the tireless dedication of founders, performers, sponsors, and audiences alike.
Here’s to many more years of music, community, and compassion—lighting the way for children in India to see a brighter tomorrow.
