Dear Seva and Remidio,
I was just soaking in the sights and sounds of Bengaluru, India when, bam, I got the call we Pristine 5.0 cameras wait for – the Burundi eye clinic was finally ready for my arrival.
To get me here, another Prisitine 5.0 – who works at a much bigger health facility – acted as my spokes-camera. Most other devices are huge and don’t travel as well as we do, plus they don’t diagnose back-of-eye problems like us Pristine 5.0s. It might be bragging to call it a slam dunk after that but … just sayin’.
My travel is pretty much the same as you humans. I had that invoice and packing list from you, Remidio, which is basically my passport. Then, Seva, your lovely donation letter acted as my visa, ensuring the eye clinic could work with customs and the Health Ministry to get me through. The flight was a breeze, but the wait in customs was, let’s just say, long. Any chance we can get that process smoothed out for future Pristine 5.0s?
This eye clinic is well-equipped with eye charts, glasses, bandages, eyedrops, and heart. The two women running the show here are as brilliant as they are kind. They know how to calm the nerves of those who feel uncertain or downright scared.
I get that you’re juggling 49 other Pristine 5.0s in Guatemala, Uganda, and Ukraine, so I’ll let you get back to it. I just want to say I’m stoked to be here, ready to roll up my dials and make some real change.
Yours in service,
Pristine 5.0
